• Graduating senior or former graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School who will be attending a two- or four-year college or accredited trade school
• Responsible attitude toward academics, preferably with a B average or higher
• Demonstrates a sustained interest in music
• Completed application

• Academic record in good standing; high academic grades are not a primary consideration
• Interest in English, English literature, Education, or Creative Writing

• Active for two or more years in at least two varsity sports programs and demonstrates sportsmanship on and off the field

• There is no application; recipient is selected by the high school principal or his or her designee

• Current college student enrolled in a degree program in fisheries, aquatic sciences, natural resource management, environmental sciences, or related fields
• Preference will be given to students pursuing graduate degrees
• Proven record of community service throughout previous years of study

• Participated in the school’s intermural* cross country or track program for at least their senior year and intends to participate in the intermural cross county or track program at their college

*Intermural sports involve competitions with teams outside of one’s own institution or school and are not “club teams.

Eligibility Requirements

• Recommendations are made for scholarships by the Shenandoah County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Chairman, Director, or Sports Supervisor based on the following:
• Children ages 18 and under who wish to participate in a Parks and Recreation activity or program
• Family receives assistance from the Shenandoah County Department of Social Services
• Limited to two scholarships per child in one fiscal year (July 1 to June 30)

• Commit to attending the entire one-week camp program
