Established by family and friends in memory of Adam Goodier, a 2015 graduate of SJHS. Adam composed music, played multiple instruments, and incorporated music into all of the relationships in his life.

Formerly known as the Highsmith Scholarship, this scholarship was established in 1974 by Al Highsmith, a prominent realtor and developer in the area, to provide four-year scholarships.

  • There is no application; recipient is selected by the high school principal or his or her designee

Established with a donation from Mary Gessner, the scholarship honors the memory of her husband Bernard “Bud” Griswold, a fisheries scientist, researcher, teacher, and former board member of Friends of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River.

  • Current college student enrolled in a degree program in fisheries, aquatic sciences, natural resource management, environmental sciences, or related fields
