Shenandoah Community Foundation recently awarded $22,250 in grants from the Bowman-Shannon Cultural Arts Fund. The Bowman-Shannon Cultural Arts Fund was established to educate, guide, and stimulate the enjoyment of and participation in cultural arts in Shenandoah County, Virginia, and the 2025 recipients represent many ways to accomplish that mission.

The 2025 grant recipients are:
• Community Art Collaborative to support the Historic Edinburg Mill Community Mosaic Project.
• Mayfest, Inc. to fund live music at the Mayfest Festival in Strasburg.
• Seniors First to provide group art lessons for seniors who attend the Shenandoah County Senior Center.
• Shenandoah County Public Schools to support programs and projects related to the arts.
• Shenandoah County SEARCH to fund art classes for SEARCH residents and staff.
• Shenandoah Valley Music Festival to create a video to promote concerts and increase engagement.
• Theatre Shenandoah to support a youth summer camp where participants learn acting, set/costume design, and tech.
• VECCA to cover expenses related to the art gallery in Woodstock.

Congratulations to this year’s awardees, and thank you for all you do for our community.
