Shenandoah Community Foundation has awarded $23,050 in grants from the Bowman-Shannon Cultural Arts Fund. The fund was established to educate, guide and inspire participation of cultural arts in Shenandoah County and continues to support organizations that bring this mission to life. The 2026 recipients reflect the many ways cultural arts can enrich the community.
The 2026 grant recipients are:
- CodeVa to educate teachers in the three Shenandoah County middle schools and provide necessary materials to implement projects that engage students in textile art, movement and data analysis.
- Community Art Collaborative to support phase 2 of the Historic Edinburg Mill Community Mosaic Project.
- Mayfest, Inc. to fund live music at the Mayfest Festival in Strasburg.
- Ravenwood Foundation to provide young artists with a platform to showcase original at the Youth Art Exhibition.
- Seniors First to provide group art lessons for seniors who attend the Shenandoah County Senior Center.
- Shenandoah Education Foundation to support the county-wide art show for students.
- Shenandoah County Public Schools to support programs and projects related to the arts.
- Shenandoah County SEARCH to fund art classes, and opportunities through music and theater for SEARCH residents and staff.
- United Methodist Family Services to support the talent show at Charterhouse School in Edinburg.
- Wild Child Museum & Menagerie to support the Creative Critters Craft Supply Fund.
- VECCA to cover expenses related to the art gallery in Woodstock.
