Warren B. French, Jr. was the visionary behind the Shenandoah Community Foundation, and it was through his efforts that the organization first formed. He and his wife Pat established the first donor-advised fund and supported the foundation’s activities throughout their lives. Read more…
Dick Golden gave tirelessly–and always graciously–of himself to this community and to this organization. As a founding board member of the Foundation, he set the tone for our vision of creating permanent endowments that would benefit Shenandoah County forever.
He made a difference, and we will miss him.
Zane Neff was a founding board member who died on July 15, 2011. Zane believed in our vision of creating a permanent endowment that would benefit his beloved Shenandoah County forever. He was a tireless ambassador and trusted advisor for SCF. We miss his valuable perspective, his wonderful sense of humor, and his quiet leadership.
Douglas C. Arthur was an Advisory Council member from the Foundation’s founding until his death August 25, 2016. We are grateful to him for lending his name and support to our organization. He was a true pillar of our community. Read more…
Dr. Jacob “Jake” Haun, founding board member and tireless ambassador for the Foundation until the end of his life, died on September 22, 2017. His vision, leadership, generosity, and indomitable advocacy were instrumental in growing the organization from its infancy to a mature community foundation with over $3 million in assets. Read more…
