Thanks to a generous donor, Shenandoah Community Foundation proudly presented Shenandoah County Public Schools with a grant for $150,000 for a new Aviation Program at Triplett Tech. The grant, distributed from the Career and Technical Education Fund at the Community Foundation, will be used to purchase equipment for the program. An additional grant from the same Fund will be provided later in the summer to support the aviation instructor’s salary.
“This grant represents an important investment in the future of our students and our community,” said Becky Stickley, Executive Director of the Shenandoah Community Foundation. “With the support of this donor, we’re not only expanding educational opportunities but also opening doors to exciting high-potential careers.”
Dr. Melody Sheppard, Shenandoah County Public Schools Superintendent stated, “We are thrilled to be adding this aviation program to our CTE offerings at Triplett Tech. It represents our continued commitment to provide access for our students to high-quality, career-focused career pathways in fields that are both high wage and high growth. We are so thankful for our community partners and can’t wait to see the positive impact this program will have for years to come.”
The aviation program will offer students hands-on training in flight mechanics, aeronautics, and aviation technology, preparing them for a range of in-demand careers in the aviation industry. The program will be available for the 2025-2026 school year.
