Field of Interest Funds are used to benefit a particular area specified by the donor, leaving discretion for particular charity to the Foundation Board. Examples might be “Affordable Housing” or “Early childhood education for at-risk youth.”

Maryellen Ruddy Animals of the Valley Fund – Established to support charitable or government organizations that promote animal care and welfare in Shenandoah County and surrounding areas.
Bowman-Shannon Cultural Arts Fund
The purpose of this fund is to educate, guide, and stimulate the enjoyment of and participation in cultural arts in Shenandoah County, Virginia. It was designed to be completely disbursed within a few years of its inception in 2019. Fund announcement.
Donations of any size to a particular fund should be made payable to Shenandoah Community Foundation with the name of the specific fund in the memo line.
