UNRESTRICTED FUNDS may be used without restriction by the Foundation Board to further the Foundation’s mission. Donations of any size to any of these funds will help achieve this goal.
Operating Fund Gifts of any size to this fund will help with ongoing administrative costs.
General Endowment Fund was established by the Board to create a source of income for future administrative and grant-making needs of the Foundation.
Herbert Parker Unrestricted Endowment Fund was established by a bequest from founding board member Herbert Parker to provide a source of income for administrative and grant-making needs of the Foundation.
The Unrestricted Grants Fund receives income from various sources, including an anonymous charitable lead trust that will end in 2027. This Fund makes annual Community Grants to non-profit organizations serving Shenandoah County and its residents.
The Founders’ Fund was established by the Board on the occasion of the Foundation’s Tenth Anniversary to honor original organizer, Warren B. French, Jr., and to recognize the efforts of all the founding board members. It provides a source of income for grant-making needs of the Foundation.
Jeffrey A. Dalke Administrative Endowment Fund was established by Dr. Jerry and Vicky Germroth to honor Jeff Dalke, a long-time Director of the Board who has selflessly served the Foundation in multiple capacities, including Board president and currently as treasurer. The purpose of the Fund is to pay administrative and operational costs of the Foundation.
Donations of any size to a particular fund should be made payable to Shenandoah Community Foundation with the name of the specific fund in the memo line.
