Shenandoah Community Foundation launched its COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund on March 30, 2020. Because of generous contributions from community members, the Fund has been able to distribute $190,000 in grants to 25 non-profit organizations providing vital services to individuals and families impacted by the pandemic.
Local charitable organizations that are IRS tax-exempt or governmental entities can apply for grants by completing an application available on the Foundation’s website. The distribution of resources will be guided by the Foundation’s Executive Committee with input from local government agencies, the non-profit sector, Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce, and others to address the most immediate and urgent needs within the County.
Donations to this fund can be made by check to Shenandoah Community Foundation at PO Box 350, Strasburg, VA 22657, or by credit card through its website at shenandoahcommunityfoundation.org.
The Foundation encourages individuals and families in need of immediate assistance to contact the Shenandoah County Department of Social Services (540-459-6226).
